Abstract
The clinical experience accumulated in recent years has clearly shown the potential of using hyperthermia in addition to radiotherapy (Dethlefsen and Dewey 1982; Overgaard 1984 and 1985; Storm 1983). However, the information on specific tumor site and histology, as well as on the duration of the heat-induced improvement in radiation response, is limited (Perez et al. 1983; Arcangeli et al. 1985; Dewhirst and Sim 1984) and more careful investigation is warranted.
