Abstract
Use of radiolabeled monoclonal antibodies for diagnosis of malignancy has been under investigation for a number of years with variable success. The natural outgrowth of these investigations has been attempts to use radiolabeled antibodies for therapy. Development of radioimmunotherapy clinical trials has also been slow in all aspects of malignancy. However, the best results have been achieved in hematologic malignancies (Press et al. 1993; Kaminski et al. 1990). The highest response rates have been observed in those studies using antibodies directed against malignant non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Our use of radiolabeled antibodies in lymphoma treatment is described in this article, with emphasis on high-dose protocols.
