Abstract
The wood produced by trees grown from different seed sources or provenances can differ significantly. If the effects of provenance or seed source on wood are to be understood, the terms need to be briefly defined. The definitions by Zobel et al. (1987) provide a useful understanding, as given in Chapter 9.1.1.
