Zusammenfassung
In dieser Studie wurden die diabetes-induzierten Störungen der retinalen Funktionen sowie die protektiven Effekte von Rökan untersucht. Als experimentelles Modell diente ein isoliertes Retinapräparat der Albinoratte, das in einer Perfusionskammer am Leben gehalten wurde. Die retinalen Funktionen wurden anhand eines Elektroretinogramms nach einem definierten Lichtreiz beurteilt. Der Diabetes wurde bei den Ratten durch Injektion vonAlloxan induziert. Einen Monat nach Diabetesinduktion war die Amplitude des Elektroretinogramms bei den diabetischen Ratten im Vergleich zu den Kontrolltieren signifikant kleiner. Nach zwei Monaten wurde eine weitere Verminderung der Amplituden beobachtet, was die Verschlechterung der retinalen Funktion bestätigte. Bei den mit Rökan behandelten Tieren war die Amplitude zwei Monate nach Diabetesinduktion signifikant größer als bei den unbehandelten. Diese Ergebnisse werden der spezifischen Wirkung der freien Sauerstoffradikale an der Retina diabetischer Ratten und den antiradikalen Eigenschaften von Rökan zugeschrieben.
