Abstract
If you examine the Table of Contents, you will see that several topics and issues pervade this book. They should be considered by anyone involved in environmental impact assessment, since they affect the quality of the product, hence the value of any risk predictions.
“It is easy in any development…, for someone to work through the exercise of a simple risk analysis such as that shown for Bougainville Copper Mine in Table 9.8. There are many ways to run these in detail, but the simplest forms are easy for anyone who can see the general pattern of risk for the industry, and the local resources liable to degrade from that risk”.
