Abstract
There is not a great deal of literature on suicidal behavior in the elderly, especially not with respect to patients who have attempted suicide (Batchelor and Napier 1953; Böker 1975; Feuerlein 1977; Kreitman 1976). We were interested to see whether there are age-related differences in patients with self-poisoning. In our opinion, if such differences exist, information about them should be of benefit in the prevention of suicide.
