Zusammenfassung

Wer das Wesen der Sonographie verstehen will, der muß Salami mögen. Für gewöhnlich schneidet man eine Salami in Querscheiben (Abb. 1.1 a). In ähnlicher Weise geht der Untersucher im Fall der Ultraschalluntersuchung des Abdomens vor. Man kann die Wurst aber auch längs (Abb. 1.1 b) oder schräg (Abb. 1.1 c) aufschneiden. Hat man sie auf alle erdenklichen Weisen tranchiert und weiß hinterher auch noch, wie die einzelnen Scheiben zusammengehören, ist man ein guter Ultraschalluntersucher geworden (Abb. 1.2 und 1.3) und somit ein Mitglied des „Salami-Club“, wie ihn mein Freund George Léopold aus San Diego getauft hat. Für denjenigen, dem dieser Einstieg nicht gefällt (oder der ganz einfach keine Salami mag), gibt es noch eine andere Möglichkeit: das sadistische Denkmodell (Abb. 1.4)
