Zusammenfassung
Bei der Simulation stochastischer Systeme (siehe 1.1.2) spielt die Erzeugung von Zufallszahlen eine bedeutende Rolle. Alle zufälligen Ereignisse sind im Modell nachbildbar, wenn die entsprechenden Zufallsvariablen generiert werden können. Die Elemente einer Folge von Zahlen sollen Zufallszahlen heißen, wenn sie zwei Bedingungen genügen:

a)
Die Häufigkeit der Zahlen muß einer vorgegebenen Verteilung genügen.

b)
Es darf zwischen den Zahlen einer Folge keine Relation bestehen.
