Zusammenfassung
Die Populationsgenetik beschäftigt sich der Vererbung genetischer Information innerhalb von Familien und in der Bevölkerung. Die Bedeutung, die genetischen Faktoren und in there Vererbung psychiatrischer Störungen zukommt, ist durch eine Vielzahl von Studien hinreichend belegt. Hierbei sind verschiedene Methoden wie etwa Familien-, Zwillings- oder psychiatrische Erkrankungen zu erforschen. Ziel dieser Untersuchungen ist, die gentischen und nichtgenetischen (umweltbedingten) Ursachen einer Krankheit aufzudecken und das Morbiditätsrisiko für Familienangehörige einer betroffenen Person abzuschaätzen. Schließlich soll anhand von Segregationsanalysen der Vererbungsmodus dieses Krankheitsbildes analysiert werden.
