Zusammenfassung
Die Fertigungstechnik strebt nach den Grenzen des technisch und wirtschaftlich Machbaren. Sie muß ihre technischen Entwicklungen zweifellos in den traditionell durch Mechanik geprägten Bereichen fortsetzen, denn auch in ferner Zukunft werden technische Produkte mechanische Komponenten und Bauteile enthalten. Entwicklungen der Fertigungstechnik haben maßgeblich zur Leistungssteigerung der Produkte und ihrer wirtschaftlichen Herstellung beigetragen. Als Beispiele jüngerer Technologien möchte ich die großen Fortschritte in der Bearbeitung von Bauteilen für den Leichtbau wie die Hochgeschwindigkeitsbearbeitung oder Hochleistungsbearbeitung oder die Anwendung der Lasertechnik nennen. Fertigungstechnik und Produktechnik bedingen und ergänzen sich wechselseitig.
