Zusammenfassung
Nach der Betrachtung einiger typischer Anwendungsszenarien haben wir zwar eine Vorstellung über potentielle Einsatzgebiete für föderierte Datenbanksysteme, aber es fehlt bis jetzt noch eine nähere Eingrenzung dessen, was ein föderiertes Datenbanksystem ist oder sein soil. Bei dem Versuch, eine genauere Begriffsbestimmung zu finden, muß man aber feststellen, daß in der Literatur sehr unterschiedliche Vorstellungen darüber existieren, was genau ein föderiertes Datenbanksystem ist.
