Abstract
We have reviewed published work regarding first attempts of ex situ split liver transplantation, the main European and American centers series of ex situ and in situ split, our own experience, the data collected (1990–1993) by the European Split Liver Transplantation Registry, as well as all data collected between 1988 and June 30, 1999 by the European Liver Transplant Registry.
