Zusammenfassung
Typographie ist für diejenigen, die sich noch nicht damit befaßt haben, entweder eine hohe Kunst, der man sich nur zögernd nähert oder etwas, was jeder beherrscht, der mit einem Computer arbeiten kann. Die Wahrheit liegt, wie so oft, dazwischen, und wie die lange Geschichte der Buchkunst zeigt, braucht man dazu keine Computer — auch wenn dieser Vielen erst die Möglichkeiten des typographischen Gestaltens in die Hand gibt. Die Ergebnisse sind viel zu oft typographisch erschreckend. So wie man den Umgang mit neuen Werkzeugen lernen muß und kann, so sollte man sich, wenn man selbst publiziert, auch die Regeln und die Fertigkeiten der Typographie aneignen.
