Intrauterinpessare (abgekürzt IUP oder IUD = “intrauterine device”) gelten als die weltweit am häufigsten eigesetzte reversible Verhütungsmethode (d’Arcangues 2007), insbesondere in China sind sie seit Jahrzehnten stark verbreitet.
