Zusammenfassung
Advancing wellbeing and human flourishing is a global need that transcends cultures and borders. It is a social change that requires an understanding of whole systems change and leadership. Curriculum to prepare nurses to become wellbeing leaders should include a focus on wellbeing, self-awareness, whole systems dynamics and leadership and organizational change and transformation. The Center for Spirituality and Healing at the University of Minnesota has resources and programs to prepare nurses and other health professionals to advance wellbeing as well as more holistic, integrative approachs to care. The Center offers academic courses, workshops, seminars and on-line learning. In addition to courses and programs that are open to the public, increasingly organizations are inviting the Center to develop custom programs to meet their unique organizational needs. Organizations need leaders who have responsibility for co-creating and supporting a culture that supports the wellbeing and human flourishing of the employees who work within the system. As a profession, nursing should consider this role and prepare nurses to be wellbeing leaders. A first step is to incorporate the core concepts supporting wellbeing leadership into new and ongoing staff development programs.
