Abstract
Making sound decisions requires to consistently take into account influence of various factors under uncertainty. Such analysis is not compatible with highly constrained computational ability of a human’s brain. Thus, decision making needs to be based on the use of mathematical methods as a strong language of reasoning. This requires at first to formally define the problem of decision making. Depending on the decision relevant information on future, various routine decision making problems are used. However, all kinds of decision making problems have a common stem which is represented by the main elements of any decision making problem.
