Zusammenfassung
Bei der Roten wie Grünen Gen-/Biotechnologie handelt es sich um zukunftsträchtige neue Technologien, die jedoch seit ihrer Etablierung in der Öffentlichkeit kontrovers diskutiert worden sind und immer noch werden. In Deutschland und in der Schweiz, aber auch international (EU-Ebene) sind erhebliche Mittel eingesetzt worden, um deren Akzeptanz in der Bevölkerung zu erhöhen, freilich bis jetzt ohne großen Erfolg. Es erstaunt darum nicht, dass seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre verschiedenste sozial- und kommunikationswissenschaftliche Studien den kontroversen öffentlichen Diskurs um die Rote und Grüne Gen-/Biotechnologie mit je spezifischen Fragestellungen, theoretischen Perspektiven und Methoden untersucht haben.
