Wissenschaftzielt auf Aussagen, die sich auf andere Menschen oder Bereiche verallgemeinernd anwenden lassen. Damit dies möglich ist, unterwerfen sich Wissenschaftler einem Regelwerk der Erkenntnis, auf das sich eine Gemeinschaft geeinigt hat; damit soll Erkenntnis transparent, für andere nachvollziehbar und damit kritisierbar werden; Fehler durch Zufallsschwankungen, Confounding oder Verzerrungen (Bias) sollen damit minimiert werden.
