Zusammenfassung
In der Diskussion um Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) steht häufig die Frage im Vordergrund, ob die Übernahme gesellschaftlicher Verantwortung letztlich mit Mehrkosten einhergeht, oder ob sie ganz im Gegenteil eine betriebswirtschaftliche Notwendigkeit darstellt und dem ökonomischen Erfolg zuträglich ist. Der Begriff des Business Case for Corporate Social Responsibility steht im letzteren Sinne für die grundlegende Idee, dass Unternehmen aus genuin ökonomischen Gründen ein Interesse an Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) haben könnten. Als Annahme setzt sie zumindest die Möglichkeit voraus, dass die Berücksichtigung gesellschaftlicher Interessen durch Unternehmen auch mit betriebswirtschaftlich erwünschten Konsequenzen einhergeht.
