Abstract
As the third most common malignant neoplasm in childhood and adolescence, lymphoma is of significant interest to physicians involved in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric oncologic patients. Considered a frequently lethal disease until the late 1960’s, lymphoma now represents one of the most curable of pediatric cancers with long-term survival expected in a large majority of children and adolescents treated according to contemporary regimens. Advances in imaging have played a seminal role in improving the assessment of lymphoma preceding, during, and following treatment, and have guided the design of clinical trials to evaluate novel treatments.
