Wir beginnen unsere Betrachtung von Kontaktphänomenen mit dem Normalkontaktproblem. Bei einem Normalkontaktproblem handelt es sich um zwei Körper, die durch Anpresskräfte senkrecht zu ihrer Oberfläche in Berührung gebracht werden. Ein prominentes Beispiel ist das Rad auf einer Schiene.
