Zusammenfassung
Sexuell übertragene Erkrankungen („sexually transmitted diseases“; STD) können gelegentlich die einzigen medizinischen Hinweise auf einen sexuellen Kindesmissbrauch sein. Das American Center for Disease Control (CDC) erklärt, dass die Diagnose einer sexuell übertragenen Erkrankung bei einem Kind jenseits der Neonatalperiode, bis auf einige Ausnahmen, sexuellen Kindesmissbrauch nahe legt (CDC 2006). Die Wertigkeit unterscheidet sich entsprechend der jeweiligen Erreger bzw. Krankheit.
