Dieses Kapitel wird sich mit der Frage beschäftigen, was Emotionen eigentlich sind und welche theoretischen Ansätze in der Emotionsforschung skizziert worden sind. Es wird sich darüber hinaus mit der Frage beschäftigen, was sich im Bereich der Emotionen eigentlich entwickelt. Hierbei werden viele Aspekte der emotionalen Entwicklung in der Kindheit beleuchtet, die sich auf die Entwicklung positiver, negativer und selbstbewusster Emotionen beziehen.
