Zusammenfassung

Prognose und klinischer Verlauf einer malignen Erkrankung werden definitiv auch vom körpereigenen Immunsystem beeinflusst. Aus dem wachsenden Verständnis der Wechselwirkungen zwischen Tumorgeweben und Immunsystem wurden diagnostische und therapeutische Ansätze entwickelt, die mittlerweile integrale Bestandteile der modernen Onkologie sind. Da die Regulation von Immunantworten komplex ist, existiert auch eine Vielzahl von Ansatzpunkten für therapeutische Interventionen. In diesem Kapitel werden aktuelle tumorimmunologische Konzepte wie Antikörpertherapie, Immunmodulation und zellbasierte Behandlungsansätze dargestellt und diskutiert.
