Zusammenfassung
Die moderne radiologische Diagnostik hat in den letzten Jahren eine enorme Weiterentwicklung erfahren. Mit Verbesserung der Gerätetechnologie in der Computertomographie (Multidetektor-Computertomographie (MDCT), aktuell bis 320 Detektorzeilen; Dual-Source-CT) und der Magnetresonanztomographie (höhere Feldstärken bis 3 Tesla sowie optimierte bzw. neuartige Spulen und Sequenzen) werden neue Möglichkeiten in der radiologischen Diagnostik geschaffen. Einerseits dienen diese zur immer genaueren Darstellung auch kleinster fokaler Läsionen, andererseits ist nun die hochauflösende Darstellung auch großer Untersuchungsvolumina möglich, sodass ein komplettes Staging innerhalb einer Untersuchung für bestimmte Erkrankungen realisiert ist (z. B. Ganzkörper-MRT beim multiplen Myelom, Ganzkörper-Diffusions- MRT etc.). Neue Techniken in CT (CT-Perfusion, Dual- Source und Dual-Energy), MRT (Diffusionswichtung, neue hepatobiliäre Kontrastmittel) und auch Ultraschall (Kontrastmittel-Sonographie) helfen zudem einzelne fokale Läsionen differenzialdiagnostisch immer genauer einzuordnen.
