Zusammenfassung

Aufgrund ihres Aufbaus sind die peripheren Nerven widerstandsfähig gegenüber mechanischen Einwirkungen. Unfallbedingte Schädigungen der peripheren Nerven entstehen entweder durch Überdehnung, lokalisierten Druck, diffuse Kompression oder durch scharfe Kraft als offene Verletzung. Im Rahmen einer Zerrung des Sprunggelenks sind z.B. sekundäre Traktionsschäden des N. peronaeus beschrieben (Streib 1983, Nitz et al. 1985). Druckschäden können als Engpasssyndrome auftreten.
