Posttraumatische Belastungsstörungen

Zusammenfassung

Angesichts inzwischen vorliegender störungsspezifischer Therapieverfahren ergeben sich aus einer diagnostischen Zuordnung der in der Versorgungspraxis berichteten und beobachteten Symptomatik für den ärztlichen oder psychologischen Psychotherapeuten ganz konkret Handlungsanleitungen zur Durchführung von Maßnahmen, die sich in empirischen Überprüfungen vielfach als wirksam erwiesen haben. Im Bereich posttraumatischer Belastungsreaktionen allerdings scheint die Diagnostik sowohl im allgemeinärztlichen als auch im psychiatrischen und psychotherapeutischen Rahmen schwierig: Während das Vorliegen posttraumatischer Belastungsreaktionen früher oft übersehen worden ist (Taubmann-Ben-Ari, 2001; Zimmermann & Mattia, 1999) — und vermutlich auch noch immer häufig übersehen wird -, wird inzwischen die PTBS umgekehrt sowohl im wissenschaftlichen als auch im klinischen Kontext nahezu inflationär diagnostiziert (McHugh & Treisman, 2007; Summerfield, 2001). In beiden Fällen besteht die Gefahr, dass die Betroffenen nicht fachgerecht behandelt werden.
