Wer sich mit den Grundlagen der Verhaltenstherapie beschäftigt, mag sich fragen, warum es eigentlich notwendig sein soll, Kinder als etwas Besonderes zu betrachten. Gelten die allgemeinen Lerngesetze nicht genauso für Neugeborene wie für Erwachsene? Der vorliegende Beitrag wird diese These bestätigen und gleichzeitig deutlich machen, warum eine differenzierte Auseinandersetzung mit entwicklungspsychologischen Kenntnissen zu einem besseren Verständnis der Verhaltenstherapie mit Kindern und Jugendlichen führt.
