Summary
As both the standard software offerings, and implementation methodologies associated with ERP mature, the remaining area of ERP implementation projects that carries a disproportionate amount of project risk is in change management. As a consequence, this area is beginning to receive more focus, and earlier in project lifecycles.
This case study describes the change management elements of a Business Process Oriented Standard Software Selection of American Meter Company, the first lifecycle stage of an ERP driven improvement initiative. During this stage, the emphasis is more on information and communication. Training will be emphasized during later stages in the ERP project lifecycle.
