Zusammenfassung
Soziale Netzwerke sind ein fester Bestandteil des Begriffsrepertoires der Organisations- und Managementforschung. Joint Ventures, Franchisesysteme, Kooperationen in Forschung und Entwicklung oder Zuliefernetzwerke, um nur einige zu nennen, sind Beispiele für Strukturen, die mit dem Netzwerkbegriff bezeichnet werden. Solche Netzwerke haben gemeinsam, dass sie sich auf einen organisatorischen Kontext beziehen und die beteiligten Organisationen wiederum auf die Netzwerke zurückgreifen. In Bezug auf dieses Zusammenspiel von Organisation und Netzwerk hat sich die Bezeichnung der Netzwerkorganisation herausgebildet, und es stellt sich die Frage, ob man es hier mit einem besonderen Organisationstyp zu tun hat.
