Zusammenfassung
Der erfolgreiche Durchbruch digitaler Technologien in nahezu allen privaten und öffentlichen Bereichen zieht Veränderungen auch für das Lehren und Lernen nach sich. Die Integration neuer digitaler Medien im Bildungsbereich ist allerdings noch nicht ausreichend systematisch vollzogen. Während die Forschungsaktivitäten zum Lehren und Lernen mit neuen Medien weltweit stark intensiviert wurden, entwickelt sich gleichzeitig die Technologie so rapide, dass mehr neue grundlegende Fragen aufkommen als die Forschung adressieren kann. In letzter Zeit standen insbesondere verbesserte Interaktions- und Kollaborationsmöglichkeiten durch digitale Technologien im Fokus des Interesses, die partizipativere Formen der Internetnutzung ermöglichen und mit den Schlagworten Social Software und Web 2.0 verknüpft sind. Die weitreichende Verbreitung mobiler Geräte, wie PDAs, Handys, iPods oder tragbarer PlayStations führte in Forschung und Praxis zu Ideen und Versuchen, diese Technologien für das Lernen fruchtbar zu machen.
