Auszug
In den vergangenen Jahren haben sich Weblogs als neues Format im Internet entwickelt. Sie dienen der Veröffentlichung persönlicher Inhalte und Meinungen. Es handelt sich dabei um regelmäßig aktualisierte Webseiten, deren Einträge in umgekehrt chronologischer Reihenfolge aufgelistet sind. Die meist vorhandene Kommentarfunktion sowie die Adressierbarkeit der einzelnen Einträge ermöglichen eine einfache und interaktive Nutzung der Inhalte. In den USA waren Weblogs im Präsidentschaftswahlkampf 2004 erstmals Bestandteil der Online-Kampagnen. Sie wurden genutzt, um den Bürgern politische Informationen zu vermitteln und ihnen die Möglichkeit zu verstärkter politischer Partizipation zu geben.
