Zusammenfassung
Karl-Sigismund Kramer streicht in seiner volkskundlichen Rekonstruktion der „Nachbarschaft als bäuerliche Gemeinschaft“ heraus, dass „das Wort Nachbar (…) verhältnismässig spät entstanden“ wäre (Kramer 1954, S.29). In den bisherigen wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzungen, aber auch im eingangs skizzierten Programmdiskurs, wird der Begriff Nachbar meist epistemologisch vom alt- resp. mittelhochdeutschen Begriff „nāhgibūr(o)“ bzw. „nāchgebūr(e)“, welcher wiederum auf das westgermanische „naehwa-gabūr(ōn)“ zurück geht, abgeleitet (Gehl 2005, S.701; Hamm 1973, S. 133).
