Zusammenfassung
Medien waren und sind im Kontext der Entwicklung globaler Prozesse immer schon von Bedeutung (vgl. Reimann 2002: 77 – 79). So verhalf beispielsweise der Buchdruck der Verbreitung der christlichen Lehre oder die Entwicklung der Telegraphie der Entstehung eines globalen Systems von Nachrichtenagenturen (vgl. Reimann 2002: 77 – 79). Heute werden weit entfernte Orte via Internet oder Satellitenfernsehen einfach und schnell erreichbar und regional gefärbte Medieninhalte treffen auf internationale und globale Publika (vgl. Faßler 2000: 10, Meckel 2001: 50).
