Zusammenfassung
Die Mediendidaktik wird immer wieder hinsichtlich ihrer Positionierung zur Medienpädagogik, aber auch zur Allgemeinen Didaktik diskutiert (siehe z. B. Kerres 2007, Kron/ Sofos 2003). Im Vordergrund steht dabei die Frage, ob es sich um eine Teil- oder Nachbardisziplin handelt. In Bezug auf die Allgemeine Didaktik kommt z. B. Kerres (2007) zu dem Schluss, dass Mediendidaktik nicht als Teilbereich der Allgemeinen Didaktik betrachtet werden könne, da sie nicht an institutionelle Kontexte gebunden sei und auch informelle Lernprozesse (z. B. durch Edutainment-Software, Computerspiele, Web 2.0-Angebote etc.) umfasse und damit über den Rahmen Allgemeiner Didaktik hinausweise.
