Zusammenfassung
Den Geschlechtswechseln in den Metamorphosen gehen, vor allem bei den hier gewählten Episoden (weitere bei Lateiner 2009), sexuelle Transgressionen voraus. Ob sich Ovid durch das vielfache Unterlaufen gängiger Erwartungen an Geschlecht und gender insgesamt als Kritiker einer dichotomen Einteilung der Geschlechter zeigt (Zajko 2009, 175–176) oder selbige letzten Endes bestätigt (vgl. Lateiner 2009, 152), mag dahinstehen. Sicher ist jedoch, dass die Rezeption ein besonderes Gefallen am Verschwimmen der Geschlechtergrenzen gefunden hat.
