Zusammenfassung
Der Begriff des ›Individualismus‹ taucht im Weberschen Werk mehrfach auf. Dies auf höchst spezielle, weil für Weber untypische Art und Weise: Der Individualismusbegriff wird von ihm nicht nur in drei verschiedenen Kontexten verwendet, sondern auch mit drei unterschiedlichen Bedeutungen versehen (MWG I/10, 269; MWG II/10, 946; RS I, 95). Weber versteht unter ›Individualismus‹ erstens eine Weltanschauung inkl. einem dazu passenden Typus der Lebensführung (s. Kap. II.26), zweitens eine wissenschaftliche Methode und drittens eine geschichtliche Epoche.
