Zusammenfassung
Das größte der Computernetze, das Internet, nimmt im Bildungswesen als Informations- und Kommunikationsraum eine immer bedeutendere Rolle ein. Bildungsinitiativen versuchen, für virtuelle Lernumgebungen die klassischen Kommunikationsdienste des Internet nutzbar zu machen. Dazu gehören electronic mail für das Versenden von elektronischen Briefen; news für das Versenden von öffentlichen Artikeln; ftp für die Übertragung und Veröffentlichung von Programmen und anderen Dateien; chats zeichnen sich durch synchrone Interaktivität und aktuelle Präsenz der Gesprächspartner aus.1
