Zusammenfassung
Müssen Emittenten “Eintrittsgelder” in Form niedriger Emissionskurse zahlen, dann erhöht das die Kapitalkosten der Finanzierungsalternative Going Public. Underpricing ist deshalb möglicherweise ein gewichtiger Grund für die geringe Zahl von Erstemissionen am deutschen Kapitalmarkt. Diese Argumentation ist nicht neu. Für amerikanische Erstemissionen stellte die Securities and Exchange Commission bereits vor 25 Jahren die Frage, ob der Emissionskurs systematisch zu niedrig angesetzt wird und ob deshalb die Eigenkapitalkosten überhöht sind.1)
