Zusammenfassung

Bereits zu Beginn der achtziger Jahre prophezeite der amerikanische Wissenschaftler und Zukunftsforscher Naisbitt, daß Netzwerke einen ‚Megatrend der Zukunft’ darstellen.30 Die wachsende globale Arbeitsteilung, verbunden mit steigender Differenzierung, Spezialisierung und Flexibilisierung läßt das traditionelle Leitbild des eigenständig am Markt auftretenden Unternehmens zunehmend überflüssig erscheinen. Wenn unternehmerische Einheiten in ihren Beziehungen multilateral und interdependent miteinander verflochten sind, dann kommt dem Aufbau und der Pflege interorganisationaler Beziehungen eine zentrale Bedeutung zu. Aufgrund dieser Entwicklungen steht im Rahmen der betriebswirtschaftlichen Forschung — die sich in den letzten Jahren hauptsächlich auf die Neugestaltung bzw. Verbesserung interner Prozesse im Rahmen des sogenannten Business Reengineering konzentriert hatte — vermehrt die Untersuchung interorganisationaler Aktivitäten von Unternehmen im Mittelpunkt des Interesses.31 Diese Entwicklungen spiegeln sich auch in der Marketing-Wissenschaft wider, und es zeichnen sich neue inhaltliche Schwerpunkte ab, die sich mit Begriffen wie Netzwerk-Marketing, interaktives und virtuelles Marketing umschreiben lassen (vgl. Abbildung 1).32

  163. Die japanischen ‚Keiretsu’ stellen eine Sonderform von strategischen Netzwerken dar und haben sich auf Basis der ehemaligen ‚Zaibatsu’ entwickelt. Die ‚Zaibatsu’ waren im Besitz reicher japanischer Familien und übten vor dem zweiten Weltkrieg als Holding-Gesellschaften wesentlichen Einfluß auf die Wirtschaft und Politik Japans aus. Die drei größten ‚Zaibatsu’-Familien, Mitsui, Mitsubishi und Sumitomo, kontrollierten in den entsprechenden Wirtschaftszweigen mehr als die Hälfte der jeweiligen Produktionskapazitäten. Mit Hilfe eines Anti-Trust-Gesetzes versuchten die Amerikaner 1947 die ‚Zaibatsu’ zu zerschlagen. Obwohl dabei vielfach die juristischen Verflechtungen aufgelöst wurden, konnten die personellen Beziehungen nicht zerstört werden. Noch während der Besatzungszeit trafen sich die Führungseliten der ‚Zaibatsu’ in sogenannten Präsidenten-Clubs, um den Umbau der ‚Zaibatsu’ zu den heutigen ‚Keiretsu’ vorzubereiten. Vgl.
