Zusammenfassung
Der langjährige Präsident der Bundesärztekammer (1978 bis 1999), Karsten Vilmar, hat auf den jährlich stattfindenden Ärztetagen gerne auf Lenin zurückgegriffen. „Wenn du dir die Macht im Staate sichern willst, dann fange damit im Gesundheitswesen an“, zitierte Vilmar sinngemäß das politische Genie des 20. Jahrhunderts und Gründer der Sowjetunion, Wladimir Iljitsch Uljanow. Vilmar, der 30 Jahre lang erfolgreich als Spitzenfunktionär für die Interessen seines Berufsstandes gestritten hat, war davon überzeugt, dass Lenin — mit dem ihn sonst freilich nicht viel verband — richtig lag.
