Abstract
In addition to the distinct lessons learned from each performance of the tour—shared in Chap. 3—many themes emerged as a result of surveying the experience of the tour as a whole. My initial suspicion and now conviction, is that including youth in resilience planning is both critical for youth—the community leaders of tomorrow—and for our communities, who benefit from the joy, fresh perspective, and sheer energy boost that youth participation provides. This chapter looks at specific aspects of the performance experience to make the case for why youth inclusion in resiliency planning is important for youth, why it is important for our wider communities, and why performance itself is uniquely effective in addressing our resilience challenges.
