Abstract
The Editor’s introductory remarks frame the book’s approach to social justice within the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary interests of the diverse group of contributors—academics, students, and activists—with shared interests. The Introduction offers a snapshot of the historical conditions in post-revolutionary Iran that have given rise to aggressive injustices in the aftermath of the 1979 Revolution, commonly known as the revolution of “the downtrodden.” With the repressive measures of the state, the discourse of social justice gradually faded away from public discussions. The Editor argues for revitalizing the discourse of social justice within scholarly research and public debates. Finally, synopses of the chapters of the book are offered.
