Zusammenfassung

Bäume mit ungeteilten Blättern mit Nebenblättern. Blüten in blattachselständigen, rispigen Blütenständen, zwittrig und regelmässig, mit 5 Kelchblättern, 5 freien Kronblättern, vielen (seltener 5, 10 oder 15) Staubblättern und oberständigem, meist 3fächerigem Fruchtknoten mit 2 Samenanlagen mit 2 Integumenten pro Fach. Früchte meist einsamige Schliessfrüchte, oft durch bleibende und sich nachträglich vergrössernde Kelchblätter geflügelt. Samen meistens endospermlos.
