Ericoide Sträucher mit kleinen, zwittrigen, aktinomorphen, knäuelig gehäuften Blüten. Blütenhülle einfach, 4zählig und am Grunde röhrig verwachsen; Staubblätter 8; Fruchtknoten unterständig, in voll entwickeltem Zustande einfächerig mit 2 Samenanlagen mit einem Integument. Einsamige Steinfrüchte. Samen mit ölhaltigem Endosperm.
