Abstract

We show that in several analytic problems our concern is with a non-linear manifold m of a vector space x, which is homogeneous and nearly additive in that for x,y ∈ m, we have x+y in m provided that x and y are in a relation c. We are thus led to the study of the graph (x, c). We outline the fundamentals of the theory of such graphs.
