Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted our daily lives, with technology playing a pivotal role in the fight against the virus. Consequently, numerous groundbreaking technologies, such as telemedicine, contact tracing apps, and online learning platforms, have been swiftly developed and adopted. These technological advancements have not only assisted in mitigating the spread of the virus but have also allowed us to maintain some semblance of normalcy. However, they have encountered various challenges, including issues related to accessibility, data security, and privacy. This paper explores the threats posed by COVID-19 that current technologies have addressed. It delves into the challenges faced during innovation, development, and implementation. The article also offers suggestions and analysis on how information technology researchers can contribute to combating the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective is to advance technological progress and research, enhancing strategies for battling the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and potential future pandemics.
