Abstract
The chapter investigates the specifics of digital transformation in the investment processes in the regions of Russia. The research was based on comparative, systemic, statistical analysis, as well as on the methodology of operational rating data application, the use of which made it possible to identify a set of opportunities associated with these changes in the investment component of regions, and to determine the group of risks that are generated by digitalization in the sphere of capital investments made by economic entities at the meso-level. The research logic associated with the above-mentioned methods allowed not only to identify the limits of using the available potential of regional economic systems in the field of investment activity, but also to develop recommendations within the framework of measures to minimize the risks that may be faced by the authorities, business structures, households, as well as various markets classified by their economic purpose. The significance of the presented research lies in the identification of risks and justification of opportunities, with which the implementation of investment processes in meso-level economic systems is associated at the current stage of development.
