Abstract
As part of the study to determine the possible causes of cracking in the metal structure of the “Kirovets” reloading gantry crane 16/20, an experimental determination of the material strength characteristics of its metal structure has been performed. Hardness measurements have been made for this using the “Vector” impact hardness tester on various structural elements, such as gib, arm, frame, portal. To determine the ultimate strength, yield and endurance of the material through the steel hardness, analytical dependences are used. The data obtained are approximated by the Weibull law with three parameters by the maximum likelihood (ML) method. The results of the experiment showed that the shear parameters of the distributions of ultimate strength, yield strength, endurance turned out to be less than the minimum values of these characteristics specified in accordance with GOST 19281–89.
