Abstract
As small cities, universities possess numerous chances for the application of the smart city concept to raise service quality and use human resources efficiently. Without digital transformation, creating a smart campus is not possible. Therefore, digital transformation can be regarded as the first step of a smart campus. Digital transformation in a university mainly includes digitizing administrative and academic processes. Robotic process automation can help to automate a defined process by mimicking a person who is responsible for that process. Hence, these digital robots can execute a process more quickly, accurately, and reliable. The study contributes to Izmir Bakircay University’s digital transformation, which is a part of creating a smart campus. The designed digital robot, ONDOscop, works for scholarship payments, which the Coordinatorship of Scientific Research Projects executes. It saved 95% time and about 1753 Turkish Liras ($100 or €95) per process execution with 100% accuracy.
